Big bets are being made on electric vehicles. The jury's still out on whether it will be fuel cells or batteries that win out. From my perspective, it's pretty simple: Li-ion batteries are a 20th century technology that can't keep up with our current and growing power requirements. Certainly this is the case for smaller mobile applications. The next decade will show whether this is true for cars as well.
